Grasses are an essential part of a sub tropical garden, either for their flowers or for their architectural foliage. We grow a large selection of species and varieties from small hummocks to impressive tall specimens. Many are evergreen giving all year colour and interest or give delicate flowers to contrast with bold foliage plants.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Zebrinus' Hardy


The Zebra Grass is very similar to M.'Strictus' but forms a more arching clump. Foliage colour is more prominent in sunny situations. Bronze red flowers in autumn. Height : 2m.

The Switch Grass forms an upright clump of blue grey foliage that turns pale yellow in autumn. It has huge panicles of tiny pirplish flowers in late summer that create a haze of colour. Height : 1-2m.
